From Summer to Fall Fashion

Photos by 3 King Studio

As of late, we’ve been pretty lucky to have some favorable weather teasing us with cooler mornings reminiscent of Fall, so my wallet and I have been taking it as an opportunity to do some Fall shopping. The one thing about this wonky weather is that while it may be 60 degrees in the morning in the middle of July, we may get to September and start having warm 70-degree mornings – meaning you should be well-versed in a transitional wardrobe if you live anywhere in the SouthEast.

The Transitional Dress

I truly love wearing dresses in all seasons. When going from Summer to Fall it’s easy to transfer over your favorite items with a couple of different accessories, the main difference here is the footwear. While I was shopping at Lenox Square’s Better Than Tax-Free weekend last weekend, I scored these suede sling back block heels for almost half off. I’ve been looking for a slip on block heel for Fall and these were the perfect mix of sandal and mule to satisfy my needs.

The base of this outfit is this floral printed dress in cool tones. The hemline is on the shorter side but with the longer sleeves, it makes for a perfect transitional dress into the cooler months. While the outfit with the block heels would be a good option for early Fall, as we get later into the season this dress works better when we add some over the knee boots to it.

The Layered Bell Sleeve Shirt

I’m really enjoying the revival of the bell sleeve top. This one I found is light enough for summer, has a unique pleated peplum element and an open tie back. I’m a fan of wearing military green jeans throughout the year, and they paired perfectly with this white top. The rattan bag keeps it summery and the campy silk scarf adds just the right pop of color.

To transition this for Fall I wanted to keep the outfit largely the same but add a sweater layer and a statement necklace. This cashmere sweater I received from Kinross was the perfect top layer with rolled up sleeves to let the bell sleeve poke out from underneath.

This time of year is the best time to start stocking up for Fall pieces with all of the sales and promotions going on. There’s no better place to accomplish that than at Lenox Square. They feature over 250 stores including Neiman Marcus, Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s and some specialty stores such as Louis Vuitton, David Yurman and Burberry to name a few. If you want to see other offers and promotions going on at Lenox Square, you can find their promotions here and more information on their chance to win a $5,000 shopping spree by featuring your Back to School Hall on social media with #mybtshaul.
