The Do’s & Don’ts of Flower Arranging

I’ve been experimenting more with IGTV (Instagram TV) and in one of my first episodes, I put together this floral arrangement for you to learn how to make a pretty arrangement for your own home! I wanted to show you how easy it is to put together something pretty for any event you may be hosting this Spring. I’m no professional when it comes to flower arranging (although I have had some instruction along the way here and here) but I do enjoy the creativity of arranging a pretty bouquet for our home every once and a while. P.S. want to learn how to do this at home? I’ve put together a floral arranging mini-course for you to access here

The great thing about this floral arrangement is that all of these flowers can be found at your local Trader Joe’s or relative store! I also included some faux orange filler that I plan on reusing for summer arrangements. I’ve put together this digital online mini-course based on the tips below. You can access it right here

The Do’s & Don’ts of Flower Arranging

Do use at least 3 different types of flowers.

Do trim the ends of the flowers when you get home and put them in fresh water even if you don’t plan on arranging them that day.

Do measure twice and cut once.

Don’t be afraid to mix in some faux fauna if you don’t want to buy expensive flowers each time.

Don’t go at it unprepared. Gather inspiration for your bouquet on Pinterest or Instagram and reference it while you go.

Don’t take it too seriously.

Do realize that it will take time to develop the skill.

Do start off using inexpensive flowers at the grocery store, like silver dollar eucalyptus, sunflowers, and white daisies.

Do stick to a color palette.

Don’t say you can’t do it.

If you want some additional hands on help, I’ve put together this digital online mini-course for you to take from you home on your iPhone. It’s based on the sold-out floral arranging course I hosted in Atlanta. In 20 minutes, you can become an expert flower-arranging pro right from the comfort of your home. I even show you how to pick the right flowers from the grocery store.

Alright, I think that about sums it up! I hope you enjoy the video and if you like it, we would love for you to follow us on Instagram or Pinterest for more inspiration.
