Georgia’s weather has been particularly finicky this year. We had a lovely long spring, a mild summer, the briefest Fall I’ve ever experienced, and we’ve now been thrust into a cold preview of winter. It makes good hair days impossible, and my skin starts showing the effects of the cold, dry weather almost immediately.
A couple of weeks ago I was put in touch with the people at Oceane Beauty to try their collagen plumping masks and creams and I’ve really run these products through the gamut and let me tell you: they absolutely work.
As much as I don’t want to scare you off from growing up, after you reach the other side of 25 things start changing. The first good thing to note is that you reach max maturity level because your frontal cortex is done developing. You finally can look back on all that advice your parents gave you in your early 20’s and silently curse them under your breath because darn it if they weren’t ALWAYS right. Love you mom.
The next thing that happens is your skin starts changing. Due to my love for the sun – and GASP the horrid tanning bed – when I was younger, my skin really started to show its age at 25. I started noticing fine lines developing on my brow and my laugh lines were becoming increasingly deep. This even led to me try botox twice last year for my forehead wrinkles. I think botox is great, but honestly the unknown long-term effects of using it scare me. Plus my friend Ryan who is studying neuroscience yelled at me for using it, so I’ve since stopped pursing that path to avoid any future lectures. If there is one thing I’m going to heed in my late 20’s it’s that I really need to listen to my friend’s advice. So when Oceane Beauty offered for me to try their line of collagen enhancing face products, I decided to give it a shot. The worst thing that could happen is it doesn’t work for me and I go try something else to protect my skin for future me.
I’ve tried just about every expensive anti-wrinkle cream there is, from La Mer to Elizabeth Arden, everything worked okay, but if you didn’t continue to use the products, your skin would go back to being lackluster and wrinkled afterward. The first time I used Oceane Beauty, I put the mask on and let it sit for 30 minutes. Even though the instructions say 10 minutes, I wanted to give it an extra chance to wow me. The paste goes on smoothly, and taughtens the surface while it dries. After the first time, I washed off the mask I was in disbelief at how well it had tightened the lines on my face.
For those who love instantaneous results, this is a phenomenal product. You can actually see how the product works in the first usage and unlike with botox, you don’t have to worry about your eyebrow going rogue or getting a droopy eye from the muscle being relaxed too much. The photo above is an actual real life, makeup free, post-mask photo of my skin. The forehead wrinkles are GONE and laugh lines are greatly reduced.
Since Oceane Beauty targets natural collagen production in your skin, this product works with your genes to improve the texture and quality of your skin. So the more you use it, the more youthful your skin will look. Now I am not claiming for you to turn back the clock to 17-year-old skin (although wouldn’t that be the dream), but from just using the mask and the face cream 3 times over the last 2 weeks, I have seen a huge improvement in the elasticity and quality of my skin.
Normally winter is my worst month with skin, but these Oceane Beauty products coupled with weekly usage with my Dermaflash, really have made my skin look a couple years younger. While the price of these products is a little expensive, trust me when I say it’s cheaper than paying $14 a unit for botox every 3-4 months.
Also, they’re offering Darling Down South readers the discount code PROMO25 for 25% off your entire order. I’m a huge fan of these Oceane Beauty products and how they’ve improved my skin in such a short amount of time. I’m looking forward to how well my skin looks in the future with continued usage.
