Emerald Suede Skirt

It’s FALLLLLLL! Don’t mind the trailing letters, although they are not grammatically correct, they emphasize my excitement that flannel Friday’s can return and pumpkin flavored everything is starting to cross my mind. I shamelessly confess that I’ve have two cans of pumpkin currently stocked in my pantry for upcoming pumpkin recipes! While the calendar may proclaim that we are transitioned into Autumn, in true Georgia style, the heat has come back with a vengeance making it impossible to completely launch into Fall fashion unless it’s with this exquisite suede skirt

Sometime in July, I started researching where I could buy a suede skirt. I’m not sure what possessed me, perhaps the popular camel suede and button front skirt seen everywhere last year inspired me to buy one, but nonetheless, it was on my list to scour out. After a failed search for a vintage quality one on Etsy and poshmark, I started looking for suede alternatives at more affordable stores like H&M- which is how I found this beautiful emerald colored suede skirt.

I decided to take a gamble on it. H&M typically runs super small and suede has no give, so I ordered two sizes up from my normal size and anxiously awaited its arrival. Upon opening the package, the familiar smell of tanned leather filled my nose and I promptly tried it on in eager haste. A Cinderella shoe fit, I knew I wasn’t returning this piece. True quality and at an affordable price, you can’t beat that.

I’ve already worn it a handful of times and I love how it pairs with my thigh high boots and a silk blouse. I think a bell sleeve top would lend a fun vintage vibe to it and I may experiment with some cowboy boots and a chambray shirt later this season.

What started as a hunt for the perfect brown suede skirt ended with me finding this perfect emerald one in the most unexpected of places. I can’t wait for all the Fall adventures to come in it!
