As a Southerner, post grad sorority girl, and a lover of all things red, white and blue (in this case – blue, white and red), I find no qualms with whipping out my 5 years of French and proclaiming mon amour for La Fête Nationale!

Last week we headed down to Le Bilboquet in Atlanta to learn how to mix up some of their new drinks for Bastille Day, in particular, the Kir Bastille: Champagne with Crème de Cassis garnished with a blue sugar rim.
Le Bilboquet has been partying all day with refreshments, petanque tournaments (like bocce, but you toss the ball instead of rolling it) and live music on their spectacular patio.
Might I also suggest that you try La Musette, a Monk’s Muse (above), and an East 60th (below).
The East 60th, surprisingly, was my favorite of the bunch. It’s essentially a whiskey sour mixed with red wine, and it’s what we affectionately coined a manly sangria. For the men out there reading this, don’t let that deter you from ordering it, the drink is robust and stout enough to let you keep your man card in play.

Bastille Day is in full force on the patio of Le Bilboquet, so if you are looking for plans tonight, might I suggest a trip to Buckhead Atlanta and try one of their Kir Bastilles?
Also, order the Profiteroles for me, you will not be disappointed.
Your top is so pretty!
