There comes a point in every young professional woman’s life when she has to decide: am I going to stick with the city-girl-status-quo or am I going to wear blush pink to the office? As a lover of subtle color pops, I am in the mindset of the latter because I think blush pink can be sophisticated when styled the right way.

I think the important thing to understand is that a more feminine color like pink, needs to be balanced by other subtle tones like neutrals, creams, blacks, and navies for a professional setting. If wearing pink pants is too bold, adding pink accents by the way of dangling earrings or a pink leather belt is a good way to ease into the color palette. I also love the way a pink shoe could brighten up a pair of navy trousers and would really refresh the classic white blouse and jeans combo. In fact, I think this gingham silk top, a pair of jeans, pink flats and pink dangling earrings are going to make its way to the front of my “casual Friday” wardrobe very shortly even if it means I have to trade out this casual pink cardigan look I styled over here.
