Channeling Troop Beverly Hills with Red Fleece

I’m glad I had an older sister growing up because she introduced me to the finer things in life that I may have missed out on since she was an 80’s baby and I was a 90’s child. Without her, I would have never discovered Troop Beverly Hills.

Do you remember that movie? This Beverly Hills housewife played by Shelley Long set out to show her soon-to-be-ex-husband that she could follow through on something so she decides to lead her daughter’s Wilderness Girls group in a fashionable way, as any good California socialite housewife should do. As soon as I saw this button front skirt from the Red Fleece collection, I was instantly reminded of Shelley nee Phyllis’ stylish outfit from the movie and had to have it.

While I may be skipping her signature shoulder-padded suit jacket, this outfit is definitely chic enough to get a nod of approval from Phyllis and could (if you trade out the heels for boots) venture into the woods for a very very docile excursion- although it would be much better suited for an office.

I think that’s what attracts me to Red Fleece the most- is that the clothes are created with the younger millennial in mind but still cater to the classic silhouette of Brooks Brothers. It’s perfectly polished and ready for work or weekend. If you sub out the more structured top for a looser fitting chambray blouse, it becomes a weekend friendly outfit. If you trade the skirt with a pair of jeans and some nude high heels, a stylish clutch and some statement earrings, you’re ready for date night.

It helps me fulfill my need to have a versatile wardrobe without accumulating a lot of cheap and trendy “things”.
