Coffee Shop-Inspired Morning Routine

If you’ve been following along with our #SpendLess20 New Year challenge, you’ll know that cutting specialty coffee runs out of the budget is a huge part of the challenge! But, just because we’re encouraging you to spend less on coffee doesn’t mean you have to eliminate that specialty coffee shop vibe altogether. Our go-to coffee bean at home, Eight O’Clock Coffee, recently released their new Barista Blends coffee line—found at Publix. Brewing it instantly transported me to my favorite coffee shop without me having to leave home.

I’m going to let you in on a little secret: whether you spend money at a café for coffee or brew your coffee at home with Barista Blends, you’ll still get those great coffee benefits because you know that all of Eight O’Clock Coffee beans are made with 100% Arabica Beans. I picked up the Black & Tan variety, which has a dark, mild, creamy texture and is the perfect balance between light and dark roasts. I love the balance and consistency it brings to start my day. Eight O’Clock also has Mocha Macchiato, Caffe Americano, and Red Eye Roast to suit your fancy!

Now, how do you make your morning coffee at home feel like a specialty coffee shop? Easy! Set up a café-inspired coffee corner to assemble your coffee in the morning.

For our coffee corner, we put creamer and vanilla bean simple syrup into little glass containers and brewed our Barista Blends coffee two ways: one in our carafe and one in a French press. If you have the time to bake your own pastries, I highly encourage that as a part of your #SpendLess New Year Challenge. Or, bring some café-inspired pastries home from the grocery store to arrange on a platter. Finally, serve your coffee creation in a ceramic mug.

Et Voila! The perfect way to transport yourself to a specialty coffee shop without leaving home and without the coffee shop price tag. I love settling in with a cup of my Eight O’Clock Coffee Barista Blend coffee to jumpstart the morning!
