Since most of our food was going to be finger friendly, we opted to go buffet style again! Our editorial assistant, Anna Kay, laid out the chips on parchment paper around the dip so that we didn’t have to worry about cleaning up a bowl later. I bought these compostable bamboo plates for serving and used vintage flatware to scoop out the dips.

It’s time to bring out everything from every Mexican vacation you’ve ever taken and use it for décor! We couldn’t wait to bring out our Mexican Serape blanket that our editor picked up on vacation, and we updated some of our pillows with a tropical print. You can’t forget the traditional picado paper banner to hang overhead and we found a delicious excuse to bring out our rattan tray again. Plus, we potted some mini cactus for guests to take home as favors.

Margaritas! We mixed up two variations of margaritas for you to experiment with: our perfect pitcher margarita and our flavored margaritas! Don’t forget about a salted rim, but spice it up a bit by adding some lime zest to the salt mixture. Be sure to use lime juice on the rim before salting for perfect salt application.

We broke out our galvanized tub and added some clean ice to it to serve for margaritas.

For those who don’t drink, refreshing sparkling water is always good to have on hand.

Finally, add some fresh florals!

Whether you want to do a bouquet of greenery or whip up a fancy arrangement like this one we made with a beautiful King Protea, add some fresh or faux tropical greenery to make your space feel like a tropical oasis!
