Meet the Maker Series: Neely & Chloe Burch

As a younger sister, I know how crazy it can get being with your siblings all the time but this fashion designing sister-duo of Neely and Chloe makes us envy the #FamLife and we wouldn’t mind being a fly on the wall in their NYC office for all the good times they have in their stylish setting. I had the pleasure of meeting Chloe when the sisters made their first trip down to Atlanta in their airstream to promote their new handbag brand, Neely and Chloe. Ever since then, I’ve been hooked on their feminine pieces, timeless design, and the upscale quality of their goods! I’m so excited to introduce to you, Neely & Chloe

Neely and Chloe

1. What was your inspiration for starting the Neely & Chloe label?

Neely and I really wanted to create a high-quality product at an attainable price point. We wanted to buy very expensive bags but obviously couldn’t afford it! We decided to make something we felt was missing in the market. A high quality, well-made handbag, at a price point that wouldn’t break the bank.

2. What is it like working with your sister? How do you navigate doing business and being family?

It’s the best! Neely and I have such different skill sets so working together is great. We really complement each other. She handles certain projects and I handle others but we team up when there is a big decision to make.

We have been best friends since we were born so it felt very natural to go into business together. We are extremely close to our family so working together seemed like a no-brainer!

3. What has been the most surprising thing you’ve learned on this journey of creating your own label?

Things never go according to plan! I am all about routine but you when starting a company, every day is different and you always need a plan B when something goes wrong—and it usually always does!

4. What advice would you give other women who want to start a business of their own?

Don’t let the little things discourage you. Neely and I always celebrate the small victories because there are so many challenging moments. You have to give yourself credit for when something exciting happens. There are going to be so many up’s and down’s so celebrate the good moments, and move past the tough ones.

5. What’s your opinion on women-owned businesses taking over the internet right now?

It’s incredible! I love that so many women are starting companies. I’ve been lucky to meet a ton of women who have started successful brands. It is so amazing to meet them, hear their stories and learn more about why they started their brand. Neely and I love to chat with other women-led companies and discuss everything from marketing to design.

Neely and Chloe

Thank you, Neely & Chloe, for sharing your inspiring journey with us! We love getting to know you and hope that this story inspires you to go out and tackle your next venture- heck look to your siblings for support and maybe you guys can create the next big thing!
