The 142nd running of the Kentucky Derby starts today and the crowds have already made their way to Churchill Downs placing their bets on the favorite, Nyquist. The afternoon is filled with bourbon and good food while everyone mingles in seersucker and ornate hats.

We are prepping for our annual Kentucky Derby party with fun paper goods from Swoozies. They have the best collection of colorful and whimsical items to decorate your table with. I particularly love how these diamond patterned napkins look like Jockey silks.

We decorated our Magnolia tree with bistro lights and added a green bay leaf table runner dotted with pink and red garden roses and wax flower.

You can’t forget your bright colored clothing and a big hat! My favorite Lilly Pulitzer dress paired perfectly with this simple straw hat tied with a bow and some nude wedges

You can find me sipping mint juleps for the rest of the day over on snapchat (@cynthiateri) and instagram

Good luck! And if you’re betting on any ponies today, may the odds be ever in your favor!
