It seems like everyone around me this summer was having a grand European adventure. Multiple friends I know went to the Italian Riviera, plenty of bloggers I follow spent months in the South of France and to be quite honest, I was completely envious of their European escape.

Nothing beats the splendor of waking up on a light summer morning, strolling down to the local market, picking up your farm fresh ingredients for a meal later, and slowly ambling back to your house tucked into the mountains of whichever fabulous European country you escaped to. Arguably the best thing about traveling is the introduction of new flavors. You can typically find me traveling solely to eat at a restaurant or to indulge in local cuisine. It’s amazing how taste can bring us back to a certain place and time in our life. The first time I spooned into the blood orange and ginger yogurt I was immediately brought back to 1995 at my grandma’s house eating orange freeze pops on the back deck and then the little flecks of the ginger kick in and I’m reminding of the first Aperol spritz I had in Italy a few years ago.
