I’m sure someone will ask it so before it’s even a question, there are no before photos for this space in our home reno because it didn’t exist before. During our home reno we knew the best way to add some value was with another bathroom, so we closed off an old hallway that really served no purpose and made it into the half bath you see now. And if you take a look at how I mocked up our design in photoshop over here, it really came out better than I expected!
Wallpaper in Linen Shelf || Large Square Baskets in Linen Shelf || Fluffiest Bath Towels || Small Basket in Linen Shelf || Round Gold Drawer Pulls (similar)|| Bar Drawer Pulls || Mirror (similar at Target) || Sconces || Faucet in Champagne Bronze || Hexagon tile || Shower Wall Tile || Shower Head in Champagne Bronze || Towel Ring in Champagne Bronze || Countertops, Campina via Hanstone Quartz
We had two reasons for wanting to add a guest bath: one to give our friends a private place to get ready when we host them and two, to increase the value of our home by now having a 2 bed 2.5 bath (see our half bath here). Before, this space was just a hallway (and trust me, I’m kicking myself for not taking a before photo of the hallway) that led to the master bedroom through the guest bedroom. It didn’t really serve a purpose other than accessing the one bathroom we had to share with our guests.
My ultimate goal for all the bathrooms was to sneak as much wallpaper as I could in. The husband vetoed that except for this bathroom. But as a compromise, I did add some wallpaper to the back of our linen shelf for a little pop of pattern.
The wallpaper is this gorgeous floral pattern from Graham and Brown which I painstakingly matched to the wall color, Sea Salt from Sherwin Williams. We have a ton of leftover wallpaper so I intend on putting some in a few frames and hanging the frames on the blank wall across from the linen shelf for an added pattern pop.
I believe I mentioned in my stories as we were renovating but we didn’t use any marble or granite in the process of the reno. Everything we sourced was ceramic or quartz.
Our floor tiles are ceramic marble printed tiles from Floor & Decor, the shower tiles are marble printed ceramic from Floor & Decor, and the countertops are Quartz from Hanstone Quartz. I love the durability and affordability of the products. Not too mention, man made products are much more eco friendly than marble or granite. I’ll do a whole post on that in the future for those curious.
If you are embarking on a home reno, the hardware we used from Schaub & Co is incredible. I can’t recommend this company enough. I also used some leftover pieces for my office reno. The pieces are sturdy and beautifully crafted.
As for the other pieces, this is the mirror we used but there’s a similar one for sale at Target. And thanks to your help, we ended up going wit the milk glass sconces from this company here.
Overall, I cannot believe how beautiful this bathroom turned out. Our guests love having their own space to get ready in and I love being able to have that space for them.
Your guest bathroom looks great! It would be interesting to see how it all looked before the repair, it is a pity that you did not take the photo, but I’m sure it is a hundred times better than this room was. Such posts inspire me to change my home, make repairs and make it more comfortable and beautiful for me and my family. I like that you made the bath light, it looks very good. Thank you for sharing this, have a nice day!
I know I’m sad I don’t have a before photo of the bathroom area either. It was just a hallway that led to the master bedroom so it wasn’t anything special. Maybe my husband has one buried somewhere that I can dig up!
This is gorgeous. What is the paint color?
Hey there! it is Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams. You can find all the paint colors we used in our home here >> https://www.darlingdownsouth.com/best-paint-colors-to-use-in-a-transitional-home/
Love this bathroom! Can you please tell me the paint color?
Hi there! It is Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams.
Hi Cynthia,
Where did you buy your vanity in your guest bath? Did you buy it separately from the vanity top? I really like how your bathroom turned out. We are in the process of renovating our master bath. I don’t think I saw pictures of your master bath renovation.
Thank you,
Cathy Kegley
Hey Cathy,
The vanity is comprised of a prefab cabinet and a quartz top. I haven’t shared photos of the master bath yet! Thanks for the reminder. IT looks pretty similar to this but with silver accents. Here’s a photo I posted on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/CLLKWyylH-M/
